Fathers Day

Dear Future Father and Husband

It is a pleasure to get this chance to write to you. There is a lot that lies ahead in your path and hope this letter will help you as you walk the path. A time will come when you will have to sacrifise to provide for your family your wife and kids. You will be expected to provide , protect and cater for the people that depend on you. It all means that as you make a choice you have to take into consideration how it will affect those that depend and look up to you. You will be expected to sacrifise your time and make time for your family. There will be days where it seems hopeless but you will have to be strong for your family. Your children will need your guidance, love and protection , you will need to learn to put smiles on their faces, take them for walks and love them unconditionally. Your wife will need your protection and above all your love which can keep her happy always. Being a father/husband takes a lot of courage because it means sacrifising a lot for your family. Protect , love, teach, provide and make life better for them, bring sunshine to their lives and smiles on their faces. Gather strength to do all these things and ask for guidance from the LORD to be the Father that he is to his children on earth. Thrive to be the best father, create a home of joy and happiness. It all starts today as we go step by step through life, make a decision to be the best father/husband in the world. In creating better homes that will mean better communities, better cities, better countries and above all a better world. I wish you all the best in all you do and be the difference as a husband/father.

Day of the African Child

It is yet another remarkable event upon us that celebrates young people who managed to fight against forces that were affecting black people. In light of this it is very imperative to take into consideration what this means to the African youth today. Are we really free from all forces affecting our growth and development? Are we fully emancipated socially and economically among other areas?
A lot of developments have been evidenced in the different spheres as there has been a rise in the literacy rates, number of young people becoming active economic players and advent of great innovative solutions to Africa’s problems. It is without doubt that a great and new chapter has been opened for the African youth today. The positive improvement have made it a pleasure to be an African today.
However a look at all these developments there have been limations brought up which have affected peace of the African youth today. Alluding to the questions on whether we are all free from forces that affect our growth and development it becomes short to measure up to the state in which young people are supposed to be at. Growth and development will be effective once young people are emancipated from the psychological forces that have fiddled progress.
In addition when it comes to the social and economic emancipation the alarming rise of unemployment in our continent leaves a lot to desire. Social issues affecting young people in Africa today also raise an alarm as to the urgent need to effective address the issues at hand. It is evident in the high rise of cases of underdevelopment in most African countries dye to limiting internal and external factors.
It then makes one wonder the effective solution required for young people to be fully emancipated. I will advocate for a complete overhaul in the way we think and conduct our business as young people in Africa. As we celebrate this day peace is very important in order for young people to be fully emancipated. Young people need to hear and adopt a shift in the narrative on how the order of events in our continent and global sphere should be like. Young people in Africa need to have peace which will lead to a change in their plight and contribute greatly to progress as well as growth.
It is imperative that young people shift the narrative by being different through writing their own course and mapping their future once they attain peace.

The African Journey

We have come a long way in our journey as Africans filled so much experiences which have shaped us to be who we are today, in so many aspects our experiences are the pieces of our large puzzle of life as they make up a complete picture that reflects on the paths that we have travelled as individuals and groups. My journey has been a unique one filled with so many lessons however in so many times being a young person in Africa are I question whether we are free from forces that stifle growth? As a young person have I been fully emancipated socially and economically ?

In the awake of events I believe that is important to look at current challenges affecting the continent and consider how one can be instrumental in coming up with solutions to the challenges at hand. The general belief that many hold is the belief that for the things to change there had to be a complete overhaul in our leadership and failing to take charge of the situation. In the past as young people we were marginalised in various from the economic to the political spheres yet today there has been a shift in the tide. It is imperative to take note of how young people have managed to contribute in the change of events and forces shaping the history of the continent. In light of this it is very critical to take into consideration what this means to be an African especially the youth person today.

A lot of developments have been evidenced in the different spheres as there has been a rise in the literacy rates, number of young people becoming active economic players and advent of great innovative solutions to Africa’s problems. It is without doubt that a great and new chapter has been opened for the African youth today. Looking back in our history as a continent we have progressed from primitive stage developing over the years embracing new ways of doing things as this has greatly impacted our continent. The adoption of new ways of doing business, solutions that have been ushered in growth in different areas of our lives, high rise in our education system, economies booming attracting foreign investors

However on the other hand there are challenges affecting the African youth today which would be critical in the progress of the lives and the progress in the continent as a whole. In addition when it comes to the social and economic emancipation the continued rise of unemployment in our continent is alarming. Social issues affecting young people in Africa today also point to the urgent need to effectively address the issues at hand. It is evident in the high rise of cases of underdevelopment in most African countries due to limiting internal and external factors.

It then leads to consider that an effective solution required for young people to be fully emancipated. I advocate for a complete overhaul in the way we think, we see ourselves and conduct our business as young people in Africa. Young people  need to shift the narrative on how the order of events in our continent and global sphere should be like. Young people in Africa need to have self belief which will lead to a change and contribute greatly to growth of individuals as well as the continent.

It is imperative that young people shift the narrative by being different through writing their own course and mapping their future . Young people have what it takes to solve Africa’s problems and build a bright future for the continent. A new dawn awaits the African youth today , think different and be the difference. My journey has been a phenomenal one filled with lots of positive insight because of the kind of thinking that I have chosen my hope is to establish a new course in the continent by being a change agent.

The paradox of our time

The paradox of our time in history is that we have taller buildings,

but shorter tempers, wider freeways, but narrower viewpoints.

We spend more, but have less; we buy more, but enjoy it less.

We have bigger houses and smaller families; more conveniences, but less time.

We have more degrees, but less sense;

more knowledge, but less judgment, more experts, but more problems;

more medicine, but less wellness.

We drink too much, smoke too much, spend too recklessly, laugh too little,

drive too fast, get too angry too quickly, stay up too late, get up too tired,

read too seldom, watch TV too much, and pray too seldom.

We have multiplied our possessions but reduced our values.

We talk too much, love too seldom, and hate too often.

We’ve learned how to make a living, but not a life; we’ve added years to life, not life to years.

Think different and be the difference.

Take a minute

Take a minute to think closely about life, the people around you , think about the things you have done and the way you have lived your life. Have you made an effort to make the world a better place? Take a minute to think of those who have no idea where their next meal will come from, who have no one to share precious moments with, who have no place to lay their heads and who have reached the crossroads in life .

We all have our struggles ,battles and challenges but is it the true purpose of our existence to live a selfish life? In a world with so much advancement has it ever dawned to us all that  there is someone longing for our greeting,  smile,  support,  advise and attention. We are too busy concerned about making a living, getting the finer things in life for ourselves yet fellow humans are longing to get fine with life.

It’s not the kind of car you drive, but how many people you drive home with.It’s not how much overtime you work but have you worked overtime to brighten someone’s day. Its not what you have done for yourself but what have you done to help others. It’s not the type of houses we build but the kind of communities we have. It’s not about us but about others around us.

Greet those you meet you never know what that might do for them, smile , help a stranger make someone’s day brighter . Take time to make someone’s life better, give them the priceless gifts that money can never buy, your time, attention and care. Consider those around you,  make the world a better place by being the sunshine in someone’s life.
